In my self-proclaimed role as translation police, I just had a check,
and I'm very pleased (even though Japanese could catch up ;-)):

+ make MSGMERGE=msgmerge 'MSGMERGE_UPDATE=/usr/bin/msgmerge --update'
/usr/bin/msgmerge --update fr.po monotone.pot
................................................................................
 done.
rm -f fr.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o fr.gmo fr.po
792 translated messages.
rm -f ja.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o ja.gmo ja.po
693 translated messages, 45 fuzzy translations, 54 untranslated messages.
/usr/bin/msgmerge --update pt_BR.po monotone.pot
................................................................................
 done.
rm -f pt_BR.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o pt_BR.gmo pt_BR.po
792 translated messages.
/usr/bin/msgmerge --update sv.po monotone.pot
................................................................................
 done.
rm -f sv.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o sv.gmo sv.po
792 translated messages.
rm -f it.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o it.gmo it.po
780 translated messages, 6 fuzzy translations, 6 untranslated messages.
/usr/bin/msgmerge --update de.po monotone.pot
................................................................................
 done
rm -f de.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o de.gmo de.po
792 translated messages.
rm -f es.gmo && /usr/X11R6/bin/msgfmt -c --statistics -o es.gmo es.po
791 translated messages, 1 untranslated message.

Cheers,
Richard
