Hmm thats odd.  I don't even know how that file got created.

In any event I rm -rfed my working copy and rechecked it out, so its all good.

You have a file named
   libpurple/plugins/mono/\
, which monotone doesn't like (file names can't contain '\').

...we *really* need to have better error handling here.
