This has been largely discussed and changed a couple of times already,
so I'd like to stick with it now. 0.99 will be nothing more than an
intermediate release that should give us more time after the main
building blocks for 1.0 landed and before we actually dare to put a
"stable" label on it.

And really, its just a number. Lets take care of more important things,
'right? ;)
