Ack!  I was wrong, getopt() needs h and ?.  Otherwise, "nano -?" gives an
error message

nano: invalid option -- ?

followed by the Usage information.  The patches at
www.math.cornell.edu/~dbenbenn/nano/ have been updated to leave the option
string alone.  (They will be synced with CVS shortly.)
