Follow-up Comment #7, bug #31803 (project octave):
I think it would be much better to fix this in gnuplot instead of trying to
kludge something in Octave.
Please consider prompting the gnuplot people to do this first, and then maybe
even looking at the gnuplot sources and seeing if it would be hard to do
there.
Or is there something in the history of the existing requests for this
feature in gnuplot that leads you to believe that they will not at all
consider implementing this feature, even as an option?
