Follow-up Comment #3, bug #32401 (project octave): gdb reports Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction. 0x00007ffff160461c in ATL_dJIK32x32x32TN32x32x0_a1_b0 () from /usr/lib/libatlas.so.3gf Makes it sound like http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=607244 "octave3.2: octave crashed with "panic: Illegal instruction -- stopping myself..." Removing libatlas3gf-base fixes octave-3.2. It completely breaks octave-3.4; I guess I have to rebuild to be sure that version will also be fixed.
