Follow-up Comment #1, bug #32863 (project octave):
I confirm this behaviour for 3.4.0 and 3.2.4, while it works in 3.0.5. In ml
7.6.0 it works, but you get the warning
Warning: Struct field assignment overwrites a value with class "double".
