Details:
Build of octave-3.5.92 with GCC 4.7 fails with
oct-inttypes.h:370:53: error: 'truncate_int' was not declared in this scope,
and no declarations were found by argument-dependent lookup at the point of
instantiation [-fpermissive]
This and possible other build errors should be fixed before the release of
octave 3.6.0.
Furthermore, Fedora 17 ships with GCC 4.7 and all packages have to be built
using the new GCC by the end of the month. The build of the current stable
version of octave also fails in Fedora 17, which might be due to the same
error.
