Follow-up Comment #5, bug #39003 (project octave):
This attached patch seems to work for me, both with mxe and linux build for
detecting Qt GUI build.
It changes from using AC_CHECK_PROGS for uic etc, to AC_PATH_PROG, and
includes the pkg-config QtCore exe prefix in the search path.
