Follow-up Comment #36, bug #38305 (project octave):

I already tried to find which signal it is. And by broot-force trial and error
(and with a bit luck) I found quickly:

Lines 472-474 (sighandlers.cc)
#ifdef SIGCHLD
//  octave_set_signal_handler (SIGCHLD, sigchld_handler);
#endif
That comment makes it not freeze!

I have no idea what this signal means or does, but without it, I see NO freeze
(I double checked)
