Philip, can you build and run the attached .oct function in your 64-bit build
of Octave, like the following:
>> mkoctfile fpucw.cc
>> printf ("fpucw = 0x%04x\n", fpucw ());
fpucw = 0x037f
What value is shown on your system? Does loading or running Java functions
change the value? Do you happen to have the io package installed and
configured to load on startup (thus always loading Java before any tests you
run)?
