Follow-up Comment #9, bug #50129 (project octave):

Thanks, I can reproduce this now. I think I had been running config.status
--recheck, but not actually using it to regenerate the Makefile, or something.
Now I can see that the values for moc, etc, are loaded from the cache and no
FLAGS are appended.

I'll try with your patch now that I can actually get the error to happen.
