Follow-up Comment #44, bug #49118 (project octave):
I'd prefer to find a way to remove #if defined (OCTAVE_USE_WINDOWS_API)
conditionals, not add more.
We already have system-dependent functions in gnulib and sysdep files in
liboctave and libinterp. I think we should just add system-dependent
functions there if they are needed.
