Details:
The following should have two visible lines on the screen but comes out as a
blank page:
close
gca
set (gca, "xtick", [])
set (gca, "ytick", [])
Furthermore, the following has tick marks mirrored on the x-axis, which
shouldn't happen:
close
gca
set (gca, "ytick", [])
