Follow-up Comment #46, bug #49053 (project octave):

I am proposing that someone who does know Autoconf (myself and several other
maintainers) add a configure test which would add a
HAVE_QSCREEN_DEVICEPIXELRATIO conditional macro to the build. This can easily
be merged into your patch since it's entirely orthogonal to the source
changes.

I would also like to avoid using the Apple brand name "Retina" in the patch
and commit message. HiDPI is the generally used term.
