Follow-up Comment #50, bug #53046 (project octave):

OK, thanks for testing.  Do you find it easier to position the dock panels in
the latest patch?  Do you like the vertical tabs as opposed to horizontal tabs
(or even notice)?

Tabs inside floated panels:  That would be doable, but it would involve
creating a derived float window...actually pretty much the same as the current
V.E. window, but disallow a toolbar and only allow a single dock area so that
tabifying is the only option.  To have more flexibility in the floated panel
seems it would be basically allowing multiple V.E. windows, just like there
can be multiple figures.  However, that might be confusing to have so many
V.E. tabs in the desktop task bar.

Nonetheless, future enhancements can come later, after multiple users test and
then get some feedback on what exactly the behavior should be.
