The axes "tightinset" does not properly take ticklabels extent into account.
See e.g. "demo annotation 2": the "10" xticklabel is not completely inside the
tight box. As a test the following should return different value for
"tightinset" but does not

plot (1:10);
ti1 = get (gca, "tightinset");
plot (1:1e5);
ti2 = get (gca, "tightinset");
assert (! isequal (ti1, ti2))
