Follow-up Comment #1, bug #53537 (project octave):

Dan, thanks for having a look into the routine.

The max. count should be a last measure for preventing an endless loop while
searching for the main dock widget that contains the element currently having
the focus. In most of the cases, the first condition is already met.

If there are possibilities to make the routine more robust, I would be happy
to push a related changeset.
