Follow-up Comment #2, bug #54067 (project octave): And this change in behavior was probably introduced by the fix for bug #51751, which changed the order of arguments passed to the internal text function such that the positional string argument is sent in last. This means if the positional argument is not present, the empty string will override the 'String' property value.
