Follow-up Comment #6, bug #53198 (project octave): Using the 80/20 rule, I think the biggest gains would be made by changing sort and issorted. I'm okay with leaving reshape and permute as they are. There is some question whether this should be done in the interpreter library or in liboctave but we could punt on that for now and just do it in the interpreter.
