Follow-up Comment #5, bug #54065 (project octave):
I upgraded my OS (to openSUSE Leap 15.0) and pushbuttons are now displayed
correctly with both 4.4 and dev (see attachment). I still see the issue when
running Octave from a VM though. This makes me wonder whether it can be
related to the graphics drivers...
Given that I was the only one to complain about this and that I don't observe
the issue any more on my main development platform, I suggest we close this
bug report for now and re-open it later if further details emerge.
