Follow-up Comment #122, bug #54235 (project octave):

Personally I am dividing the list into the things that Octave can do something
about and the things that are up to the porter / system administrator to do
something about.

I would like to close this bug report as resolved now, because we have Octave
building on Solaris, there is no bug here now. Does anyone object to closing
this as fixed?

The two other bug numbers I referenced are real bugs in Octave that can be
fixed by changing something in Octave, with more hands on testing.

The remaining issues 3 through 7 are all system configuration and packaging
issues that are outside the scope of Octave. It's not like Octave isn't
compatible with a different version of something, or Octave is making a wrong
assumption about the size of an integer or other common porting problems.
These are issues like including <GL/glext.h> causes a compiler error. I think
most or all of these could be reduced to very simple standalone test cases and
reported to the OpenCSW packagers or support forums or whatever, and see what
can be done about these.
