Follow-up Comment #6, bug #54540 (project octave):
All demos of patch work without errors.
All demos of polar do not produce axes. Screenshot attached.
The problem always occurs in my Desktop with nvidia drivers (Ubuntu 18.04,
nvidia-340.106, GeForce GTX 560 Ti).
I do not observe it in my laptop using nouveau.
