Follow-up Comment #1:
Alexander, thank you for the report. The minimum size was hard coded in the
terminal widget, so at a much higher leven than you were looking at. With the
changeset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/462066384af3
in the dev branch, the minimum size is set to two lines depending on the font
size.
