Follow-up Comment #3, bug #55267 (project octave):

In Octave 4.4.1, we forced Qt to use non-native file dialogs for almost
everything. In Octave 5, we use native file dialogs instead (the Qt default
scenario). This means that if you are in GNOME (Ubuntu default desktop), Qt
will load a plugin to use Gtk file dialogs to blend with your desktop
environment. If you are in KDE, Qt will load a plugin to use KDE file dialogs,
etc. This warning comes from how your version of Qt uses your version of Gtk
to open a file dialog. I don't see it with my versions of Qt and Gtk.

Please try unchecking the "Use native file dialogs" checkbox in the Octave
preferences to see if that gets rid of the warning for you. If so, that option
is entirely where these warnings come from, and that is your workaround to get
rid of the warning with your versions of Qt and Gtk.
