I ran your code and did NOt get your answer!
I am on octave 4.4.1
OctSymPy v2.6.0: this is free software without warranty, see source.
Initializing communication with SymPy using a popen2() pipe.
Some output from the Python subprocess (pid 29328) might appear next.
Python 2.7.15rc1 (default, Nov 12 2018, 14:31:15)
