Follow-up Comment #6, bug #55391 (project octave):
What is in the startup_hook_set? I see that the operate_and_get_next function
adds command_editor::goto_mark to the set, then that function ultimately
removes itself from the set.
Do you have something else in the list? Maybe the source of the problem is
modifying startup_hook_set inside this loop?
