Details:
I happened upon this sequence of commands which leaves an axes object which
takes up too much of the canvas area in a figure. Resizing the window with a
mouse causes the plot to snap to the correct view.
Code to reproduce:
plot (1:10:100, 1:10)
axis equal
daspect auto
pbaspect auto
