Did they find a workaround for the "fork" call (they could, if they'd
use QProcess instead)? Otherwise the Qt terminal is not compilable under
native Windows (cygwin ok, though).

From the tea leaves I'm reading in the gnuplot discussions of Qt, there could possibly be consideration of making such a change. But since there is no developer with Windows, there is no motivation to change anything. That is why someone with Windows who can indicate the build is failing and with a particular error message could get the process rolling.
