After fixing some ependencies things look much better for me now.
Summary:
PASS 11457
FAIL 3
XFAIL 6
SKIPPED 60
the 3 failures are bug-38236.tst + 2 issues with tolerances.
Can the large number of skipped tests be due to the fact that
I disabled JIT and opengl?

P.S. Using Torsten's workaround for bug #40545 I can now also run the GUI
without frezes or crashes.
As soon as RC1 is out I'll also produce installers for OSX 10.9 with and
without GUI, any suggestions
about how to mark the GUI version as "beta" or "pre-release" and make it clear
that the recommended version
for production use is still the cli one?
