Questions about debug behavior in GUI

(Sorry if these are stupid questions)

Q1:
Is it expected behavior that breakpoints set in the GUI editor in functions
under private/ subdirs don't work? Not even when that private/ subdir has
explicitly been added to Octave's search path?

Q2:
When a function is debugged in the GUI, after right-clicking on a variable
in the workspace pane and selecting "disp (..)" (or any other option except
"copy") the variable contents are shown but this also leaves debug mode. IOW
it looks like a silent "dbcont" command was issued as well. Is this a bug?
IMO for users this is at least unexpected, if not undesired, behavior.

Both "issues" happen under Linux and MinGW.
