This is impossible: Apple will not allow us to do this. Apple imposes
restrictions on the Apple App Store that are GPL-incompatible. Since
they most likely will refuse to get rid of their restrictions, they
therefore will refuse to comply with the GPL, and thus cannot
distribute Octave.

It would be. Can you convince Apple to allow us to do this? So far,
they forbid it.
