Julien,

each @group block within an @example block will be converted into a <pre 
class="example"> block.

## @end group
## @group
Such a group change introduces an additional <pre> block between the 
groups, which contains a single space.

However, when I omit the spaces, there is no additional <pre> block and 
I am happy. ;-)

I investigated this further and found more unintentional <pre> blocks. 
Probably, the generate-html package should strip the spaces in front of 
@ macros at the beginning of lines. What do you think?
