Hmm, no, I tried updating to the changeset just prior to Dan's locking
changes and there is still a delay on exit.  Strange, I don't remember
this happening in the past.


I can't confirm this delay with a recent build (hg tip a42de4173533).

I can, but it comes and goes for me. Earlier this evening it was exiting
immediately, now I see a delay again.


I am experiencing this now after a Debian update (still running Jessie).
Also, I'm experiencing this with a build with the 4.0.0-rc2 version and
without starting the GUI.

Could someone describe the delay? Is it just in the GUI? Or octave-cli as well? Edit some unsaved file and exit, trying to say "save" in response to the dialog box as fast as possible. Is the delay before the dialog box or after the dialog box? Open the resources/processes monitor for the desktop. Does the CPU usage climb during those ten seconds before exit actually completes?
