I get these error messages.

 GEN      doc/interpreter/splinefit4.png
error: __osmesa_print__: Depth and stencil doesn't match, are you sure you are using OSMesa >= 9.0?

but I have done what it says here:

So I must have more that 1 version of OSMesa.

I am on ubuntu 14.04.

How do I find out how many versions of OSMesa I have, and how to get rid of the ones I don't want??

here is my attempt at answering the 2 questions

address@hidden:~$  nvidia-detect
nvidia-detect: command not found

address@hidden:~$  apt-cache policy libosmesa6-dev
libosmesa6-dev:
  Installed: 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.5
  Candidate: 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.5
  Version table:
 *** 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.5 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     10.1.0-4ubuntu5 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages
address@hidden:~$

And yes this is a new clone put into a new folder.

and I still get

 MAKEINFO doc/interpreter/octave.info
error: __osmesa_print__: Depth and stencil doesn't match, are you sure you are using OSMesa >= 9.0?
error: unhandled execution exception -- eval failed
  TEXI2DVI doc/interpreter/octave.dvi
/usr/bin/texi2dvi: etex exited with bad status, quitting.
