I suggest to clone all mercurial repositories, the few git repositories, and the svn repository to do a local grep for better accuracy.
Is there a way we could create a package that contains all these other packages, just for convenience? It would be nice if I could say "check out all of Octave Forge" in a single command and also be sure that I have everything.
