Yes the terminology can be difficult. I will add more references to be clear
where the data comes from.

Now I can work towards a referenceEllipsoid function. (It uses these
functions). Is there a possibility of a new version?

I have a referenceEllipsoid  which works and produces the correct data.
However, it does not have all the functionality. 
Also there are things matlab does I do not know how to do with a structure. 

E.g.

referenceEllipsoid with defining properties:

Instead of octave's
+++
scalar structure containing the fields:
---

And how it shows certain fields but does not display their values.
