Follow-up Comment #43, patch #9084 (project octave):

My latest patch was file #44572, not #44579 that was by A.R. Burgers.

Anyway I hope this patch can be pushed soon. I've included it since ages ago
in my builds and cross-builds.

One thing I'm wondering is if this patch (or uitable at large) doesn't
duplicate functionality already in the Variable Editor (or better: the other
way round).
Maybe in the future some code simplification and code deduplication is due.
