Details:

Users will download a new release, build, and then run 'make check' to verify
their distribution.  However, currently 3 tests fail regardless of the
platform.  The 3 tests are all related to parser functionality, which has been
fixed on the default branch.  Either the bug fix in changeset 002948ae5bc0
could be transplanted to stable, or we could simply delete the tests on the
stable branch since we know they have already been addressed.
