Regarding scoring -- I'll be adding slrn-like scoring, including
support of slrn scorefiles, in Pan 0.14.0. I've been looking at slrn's
scoring code over the weekend and think it will be fairly easy to
incorporate its XOVER-level scoring, min/max thresholds, `next high score',
etc. into Pan's filter code.

Regarding flamers -- fuck 'em. It bothers me to see assholes casually trash
something I've worked years on, but since responding to them just eggs them on,
and they don't seem to be polite enough to just die, the best policy I've
found is to read their first few letters to see if they have any sane
points that I should put on Pan's roadmap, then plonk them.

KNode used to be better than Pan, IMO, but that didn't stop me either.

cheers,
Charles
