Since Pan 0.13.4 is in string freeze, and I'm home from work between
doctors' appointments, I spent a little time this morning working on
scoring for Pan 0.14.0. Things are looking really good, so I made up
a screenshot:
http://pan.rebelbase.com/scoring.png
What you're seeing:
In the upper-right corner is Pan's main window. There is a new filter
button for filtering on high-scoring articles. Not shown are new menu
options:
* View|Match very high-scoring articles
* View|Match high-scoring articles
* View|Match low-scoring articles
* View|Match very low-scoring articles
* Article|View Article's Scores
* Article|Watch subthread
* Article|Ignore subthread
* Tools|Create Score
An article, "[Xnews] Scoring will not stick", is selected in the header
pane. After selecting it I hit "Article|View Article's Scores", which
pops up the "Pan: View Article Scores" window in the upper left-hand-corner
of the screenshot, which shows how this article got a score of 110.
I hit "Add" in this window to get the next dialog: "Pan: Add to Scorefile".
"Pan: Add to Scorefile" can also be popped up from "watch thread",
"ignore thread", and "bozo", where the dialog's controls are
initialized to appropriate settings, and from "Tools|Create Score".
In the lower-right are the new preferences options for Scoring,
which lets you tweak the thresholds between very high, high, low,
and very low scores.
Very High == watched
Low == marked read automatically
Very Low == ignored, by default not shown in header pane.
Backend: the slrn scorefile format is supported, including
score names, nested conditions "{:: }", and so on.
Any comments?
cheers,
Charles
