[Pan-users] UTF-8, PCRE and Pan 0.14.2.91 - problems suddenly

Hmm

Have been using Pan 0.14.2.90 for a while, I have PCRE 4.4 installed
which appears to work fine with UTF-8 and reg exps.

Now have built 0.14.2.91 and suddenly the log is full of complaints
about reg-exps in the score file like:

Sat, 24 Jan 2004 14:24:51 - Can't use regular expression "\.": this
version of PCRE is not compiled with PCRE_UTF8 support at position
138202594

So, why did it work OK with the previous version? I remember having to
update from pcre-3.9 to 4.4 because of the UTF-8 issue. I believe that
by default pcre-4.4 is built with this support, it must have been
because 0.14.2.90 didn't complain, right?
