[Pan-users] Changing the background color

By default (at least on my Linux box) the Pan window is displayed with a white background. I know how to change the color of the tezt, using the Preferences menu. But, what about the background? Can its color be changed? I'd like for my background to be black, with text in white, or other light color; I find this much easier on my eyes.
