That may be the case, but it still does all I want it to do.  Unless it
gets broken by dependencies, why does it need upgrading?

The original poster was asking if there's anything available in Pan
"like in XNews".  If newspost does not meet your requirements, XNews
runs happily under Wine but I cannot comment on its binary uploading
capabilities as I've never tried them.

I say again that the facility to upload binaries (particularly yenc
encoded) through Pan would be useful.  If Pan doesn't have its own
binary uploading facilities, could the developers look again at
integrating newspost - even by providing a toolbar button and a short
script to input newspost parameters and then run it.
