Of *another* message.

Every message has a unique ID, called Message-ID.  References are the
IDs of other messages showing which messages are referred to by this
message.  It helps in threading to have references.

A _post_ to an ng will have no Reference headers.  A _follow-up_ will,
or at least should, have references.
