I noticed that the last time I tried forwarding a most to my mail client, 
as well.  However, I've not upgraded pan in some time, and I'm quite sure 
I've sent stuff to the mail client just fine since then, so I suspect 
it's some library pan uses that's out of whack, or something, and pan's 
simply misinterpreting the error.

I've not looked into it further.  I was thinking about doing so today, 
but got involved tracing down and fixing a couple other unrelated issues 
with KDE, not pan, instead, and now I'm tired enough I'm getting silly, 
so it's /definitely/ not the time to go trying to fix it now!
