Sigurd is correct - the change needs to be applied.  This change is also valid 
for Sybase.  You can read more about why you're seeing this behavior here:

You can also change this option in Query Analyzer under the connection 
properties.  Needless to say, it can cause some confusion between developers 
running with different settings ;-)
