as long as you specify the full system path and the database has the proper
permissions it doesn't matter. I have 9 different installs total of 3
different versions of phpgw on 2 different servers with none having the default
names or paths and all works fine here.

Summary: header manager - header.inc.php
Original Submission: if you delete the header.inc.php and have the setup
program create one. It will create a non functioning header.inc.php. Upon
creating the new file, when you go back into header manager it will tell you
that your header.inc.php needs upgrading.

does it make a differece that the directory and the database are different from
the default?
server dir: www_root/phpgwtest/
db name : phpgwtest

Hmmmm. I have had several people and they can't replicate it. Please try
another cvs update.

just did a CVS update today(09/23/2003). and the header.inc.php issue just got
worse. Now when it creates the header.inc.php, i can no longer login into
header admin or config admin. It just tosses me back to the main setup page.
Apache shows no errors and neither does MYSQL. I checked and rechecked the
install docs and file permissions.
the apache server is running as u: nobody g: nobody
thedatabase is phpgwtest
DEll P4 Server 2x1.2gig 512meg ram

I had the same problem.. and not using multiple domains.

using the CVS release (9/15/2003)
also not using the default phpgroupware database. using the db name phpgwtest
on mysql 3.23

Are you using multiple domains? There is a known (but unlogged) issue with
this. Will get a fix in the next day or so.
