tarball anyone? :)

I'm new to this list, but I'd really like to start helping out with
pingus.  I've been programming for a while now in C++, but want to work
on something on the side too.  

The only problem is that I can't download it from cvs.  I haven't tried
in about a week ;) , but before that it would seem like was downloading
fine, but would just stop and freeze.  I wouldn't to kill the process.

Wouldn't it be possible for anybody to set up another cvs computer, or
upload a recent tarball of the latest version?
