Right, you can charge any amounts of money you like for any GPLed
product that you distribute, no matter if you wrote it or not. Simply
put it onto a floppy (which cost you 20 cents) and sell it for 1000$,
perfectly legal under the GPL.

The only thing that the GPL enforces is that the user also gets the
source. So if the floppy is not large enough to hold also the source
and you don't distribute both floppies together, the user has to get a
written offer that he can get the source floppy for the pure cost of
the medium and the shipping, so charging another 1000$ for the second
floppy is a no-go with the GPL, but charing insane amounts of many for
the first one is perfectly ok (but since the receiver of the floppy
could make the thing available for 1$, chances are low that many
people will give you 1000$ in the long run.).
